My Nephew, My hero
My Hero!
My brother Floyd called me about 5:45PM to tell me that his son had lost his battle with cancer. Floyd was in the Baptist Hospital at Jacksonville,FL. We all had been kept aware of his daily battle but I think few of us really realized how truly heroic Floyd's battle was, and not him only but his Loving wife, Debbie, his daughter's Jennifer and Amanda, and his devoted Father and Mother, Floyd and Karin. none of them gave up on him.
Like so many in our family we have lots of "jewels" that we rarely get to know for many reasons, but mostly because we are all so busy with our own lives, but also because we are never really geo-graphically close to one another. Floyd was in the Coast Guard for 20+ years, and went on to live in Jacksonville,FL for the last 7 or 8 years but we just never got to see one another that much. I never realized till recently how hard and long Floyd had fought and kept the faith. He never complained, like his Dad said.
My Prayers and Thoughts are with the Family and with Floyd, I will miss him, but I take comfort in knowing that he is with "The Heavenly Father".
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
